JUDITH CARLOUGH
One Writer’s Journey
“Easy reading is hard writing.” — Nathaniel Hawthorne
Judith Carlough started her writing journey late in life, with lots of gaps.
Today, at age 76, she is an award‑winning short story author with two novels making the rounds with publishers.
Judith’s thoughts on the writer’s life:
“Every writer’s journey is unique. There is no secret formula for success, except the magic ingredients of perseverance, imagination, and craft. I should add resiliency, because you get knocked down a lot.
My advice to new writers: If you have a story to tell, write. If you have an opinion, write. If you have dreams that soar, write. Then rewrite.”
